    Finally something of my own

My wife and I have been looking for a house to get out of our apartment, that was in half decent shape, enough room for expansion (kids) and had some space for me to be able to work. Well we looked at a house yesterday, and today it's ours woohoo!

I now have a 30x40 shop on an acre. I'm excited.

You mean, you saw the house and put an offer in and it was accepted right? No offense, but I deal in real estate, and it doesn't happen that fast. Not saying nothing negative by the way.

Congratulations on the house. My advise, is unless it is isolated, sound proof it as much as possible.

Very good rca....I'm happy for you. That's a great size for a workshop. You will have such fun setting it up. Can't wait to see pictures.

Yeah, has central AC and heat, as well as electricity. Has 3 regular 8' garage doors, one is a pull through to the backside meeting another door which is 14'

Actually, my mom is the realtor (started her own company about 10 years back, after working for Remax for a number of years), and yes, it did happen to get accepted that fast.

It's in a small town called Beasley.. Population maybe 400? .. I don't think I'll have any trouble with sound emanating. Not to mention the railroad track is literally 30 yards from our house...That means everyone is already used to loud noises (even at 3am).

    Congrats!

I bought my first home in April. Has a small attached garage. Already wishing I'd bought something bigger.

That is what I thought you meant, the acceptance of the offer. Congratulations again.

Yeah, with the train, then I wouldn't worry so much over noise either.

The little old lady that lives there said we have to keep her dog too, as she can't take it to the nursing home. Kinda sad.

That is excellent RCA.....owning a home can be a blessing to be sure....My wife and I could not wait to find a place when we were living in an apartment. She loves being able to put a nail in the wall anywhere she pleases. I have even learned to love doing repairs (for the most part lol). I think it has to do with the fact that it is ours and we make all the decisions.

Once again RCA, congrats..You are going to love homeownership.

it is sad about the little old lady having to leave her house and her dog. I'm sure she is relieved that you will have them both. What kind of dog did you inherit ? And did the lady have a husband who left any treasures around ?
