help: silver mother board and fingers ?

got these out of an old custom buit rig it looks like an HP clone but this is the one I could never find a cpu in, and all the fingers in the boardw are silver as well as all the connections, any one ever come across this. where the cpu should have been were 4 bords tgat looked like Rams loaded with small chips. any one got any ideas here. sry cant post pictures at this time.

My guess is a processor before 286 like an 8088 chip looks like a big ic chip. One of the four boards probably has Processor Board printed on it.

I think we got one of them last week or two, didn't have an actual processor like we're used to, just a whole lot of cards with lots of plug in IC chips on them.

The older ram do have silver fingers and typically the “chips” attached were noticeably thicker than more recent ram. Removable IC chips can fetch a better price than motherboards. Some IC chips are ceramic. Take note of these. If you find a ceramic IC chip with a sticker peel it up. Some have a round window underneath that allows you to see into the chip. You may like what you see.

Ahh yes I have many of these ceramic chips with the windows.

Also If you find a processor board from an older server or computer Olddude, there will be many chips, about 1-1/2" square, that are soldered to the board and covered by a thin aluminum heatsink. Look in between the alum and the board real close and you will see the good stuff. On the board we had there was one removable processor and it had a large alum heatsink stuck to it with epoxy. Don't try and separate the heatsink, all you will do is break the ceramic chip. I think there were either 8 or 10 chips on the board we had.
