Things you can do with unusable gasoline.

If you're taking apart things like lawnmowers or weedeaters and there's still some gas in the tank that's either got water in it or just a bunch of crud I have a couple uses in mind. My grandpa used to run a small engine repair shop out of his garage and he always used it as weedkiller in his gravel driveway. This is no use to me as my driveway is concrete. But I do have a firepit. The immediate thought on that is to just dump some on there to get it started but there's a way to make that firestarter last a little longer. Make some napalm. All you gotta do is just throw some styrofoam in there and it'll eat it right up. Keep adding to it until it gets nice and thick. It might take alot though depending on how much gas you got. Put a little on the start of your fire and it'll burn like a candle.

I put gas in a Styrofoam cup once (was not really thinking) because my bike would not start so I was going to put a little bit inside the carb to try to get it to start up...well the gas came out of the cup before I got to the bike lol.

I end up with a fair amount of old gas from vehicles that I strip for scrap and I just save it in 5 gallon cans and mix with old motor oil for starting fires, I burn a lot of dead fall and brush out here but I only burn when it's raining or snowing to limit the possibility of runaway fires.
Half a gallon of that mix starts wet wood piles quite well but don't explode......sounds like a fair way to get rid of styrofoam tho too.

When I was a kid I was working on my mini-bike and needed to empty the gas into something and decided my Dad's styro minnow bucket was a great thing to use. I remember cuss'in cuz someone took it then I realized the blob of goo on the floor used to be the bucket. Sorry Dad, yeah that was me.

They use the old oil from cars and trucks for use in their Waste Oil Heaters which they heat the shop in the winter time. As long as the mix isn't water thin the should take it. The shop I worked at also use to throw gas in the oil on colder days, so it would burn hotter and heat up faster.

Never had any problems, and I don't mix the cleaning fluid with gasoline. But it's a grounded spark free parts cleaner. And haven't found anything that cleans the grime off parts better.

Well besides MEK, but I can't get my hands on that stuff anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I use gasoline to clean small parts, but having a tank full sitting in the corner waiting for a stray spark from my torch just doesn't settle well with me. But if it works for you by all means...

I found a great way to get rid of it.

I had a container that would not completely seal. It was a gallon or so of two-cycle mix that ingested a bit of water during a heavy rain. I poured it into another, old container. One that was ready for the trash anyway due to a cracked top. Over the past month I have been dumping other old fuel in with it. I had planned to take it to the landfill to dispose of it and had moved it to the front of the house so as not to forget it. Someone must have come by and been tempted by the thought of free gas, because it's gone. Hope they enjoy the "mix."
