Hello, I've been lurking on here for a few days leeching information and thought it was time to register and get involved. Hopefully I can contribute something useful, even if I'm pretty new to all this and just a learner.

I'm currently working as a Taxi Driver in Liverpool, England. I need about £4,000 to pay for a course that will qualify me to apply for the job I want to do and as I am the Father of a One Year old Boy saving is very difficult. That's why I've started scrapping. I've got a couple of experiences of scrapping, but maybe they would fit in better in a different part of the forum.

Welcome to the Forum Jack Daddy Over in England they call Scrappers Rag and Bone Man?

I think that's what they were commonly known as years ago, but these days 'Scrappy' seems to have replaced it.

The term 'Rag and Bone Man' always conjures an image of someone pulling a cart up and down a cobbled street in a plagued city calling ''Bring out yer dead!''. I don't know if that's where it came fromoriginally, but that's what I've always thought.

Until lately, yes. These days it's become a sport full of cheats and mercenaries who are paid far too much and are out of touch with the supporters. I prefer sports like Mixed Martial Arts now where for a couple of £ you can go to a gym and train with and learn from the guys you watch conmpeting on TV. I enjoy it more as a sport and I like to see hard working people who I can relate to making money and enjoying success.
