    disc drive lasers

I scrap several computers a week and have always been curious but never asked. The warning lable on the drives warn about radiation exposure. Is there any real danger if it is not powered up? Also,is there any scrap or resale value to them?

No scrap value I'm aware of, but if you have an ac to dc converter you can hook them up and burn stuff.

Back in the day it was with a magnifying glass and the sun, now lasers. Too funny!
