"We are having everyone show up at X time - first come first serve" A business just sent that to me from a CL ad in response to my inquiry. IN the ad it stated... by appointment only... ???
So... how does that make sense? Are there fist/knife/gun fights to determine who gets what from the 12 items they have available when everyone shows up at the same time?
Anyone else have odd things like that happen on CL? I almost guarantee it's "yes"

Even though there was an agreed time and I was there 10 minutes early, they were "sold" when I got there.
The fact that the office manager was obviously stressed and disorganized and it was an attorney's office... those all should have been red flags. It wasn't far from my location and my truck is full now anyway so no biggie.

When they give everyone the same time to show up, that may also mean the hottest looking scrapper gets the deal. So a shapely looking lady wearing her Daisy Dukes gets cuts in line ahead of an overweight 50-year-old man.

I always feel like everything on craigslist is a scam. usually most of the time everything goes ok but anytime something on there is sketchy like that I always tend to pass or keep my splitting maul/hatchet near me. with my luck I would be the guy picking up from jim while he's in his hot pants.

Don't worry guys, I only wear my hot pants for the ladies.
I do check out the free section on CL for my area a lot but it's mostly just people trying to get rid of what I consider trash.
