Nice! I've been watching prices for the right timeframe. I have a couple hundred or so pounds of red metals I can move, but it can sit. Doesn't matter to me. Retirement fund sort of thing. I scrap because I can, and always will. I cash in usually when my hoard gets too bulky(like AL), or prices dictate to.

I realize there are all kinds of scrappers here from large to small, with a wealth of intelligence and knowledge, so I have a question that I can not find an answer to.

When is the best time to cash in? Upswing or down swing? Essentially, what I' m asking is when and why do the scrapyards adjust their pricing? Known is supply and demand, world economy, disasters, and such, but WTF, what makes a price increase? There is little correlation between warehouse stock, futures, economy, demand....... When is the best timing to sell? When and what motivates yards to increase their pricing? Yes, open ended, just looking for basic info.

TY for any insight. I know there is a shortage of crystal balls.
