Help with Samsung 54" 3d TV

A family member just gave me their Samsung 54" 3d TV saying it's broken and I can scrap it. She also said they had tried replacing the motherboard altogether and that didn't fix it either. So I think it is worth scrapping to some degree but I have looked around on here, youtube and google and can't seem to find anything about tearing apart 3d tv's. Is it going to be much different than a regular flat screen? Is there an expensive component to keep an eye out for and resell? I usually check out how to scrap something before I actually try to and I can't seem to find any help for this one. Any experience here from anyone?

Start with checking all the capacitors. Look online to see what I am talking about. Look up that particular tv on youtube and google for insight into issues with that tv.

Check on ebay for replacement parts(buying or selling) be sure to check the sold items for real prices. 73, Mike

If a flat screens got a intact screen, its worth more than scrap value to somebody.
