My E-bay Test. With scrap RAM for under $1

I am wondering how high this 1 lbs would be at auction. I'm charging $6.50 for shipping but the starting bid is .99.
Just want to see if this test would get me over the $14.75. I know it's not the best money making strategy but here it is.
WOW Starting Price Under $1 1 lbs Scrap Computer RAM for Gold Recovery | eBay
Also if you guys have any constructive criticism as how I can better my listing please let me know. All my scrap I get for free, so this just cost me a little bit of time.

Remember you will lose 13% after Final Value Fee's and Paypal fees.
You actually need someone to pay $16.67 for this lot to bank $14.75.

There’s no fee to use PayPal to purchase goods or services. However, if you receive money for goods or services (such as from selling an item on eBay), the fee for each transaction is 2.9% plus $0.30 USD of the amount you receive.

Also note that the ebay fee for the final bid price is 10%. any shipping fee you charge is included in the final value fee %

"If the item sells, you're charged a final value fee. Final value fees are calculated based on the total amount of the sale and are charged per item."
"The total amount of the sale is the final price of the item, shipping charges, and any other amounts you may charge the buyer. Sales tax is not included."

    source : Standard selling fees

Practice taking photos. You can do better. Study the sold listing of similar products. Emulate the best of them and you will find it takes only a little more of your time. You don't just want to sell things you want them to sell quickly. 73, Mike

This result is not a big surprise. I have successfully sold RAM on ebay and made more money than I would have selling to my normal buyer. I found that the extra couple of dollars I made was not worth the additional risk of selling to someone on ebay and the extra work involved in selling on ebay.

Much of what I sell on ebay is worth very little as scrap metal but once tested its worth many times more. In addition I will suggest that if you want to continue selling RAM sell several pounds at a time. Once you go over 16 oz USPS takes you out of First Class Package into Priority Mail.

I prefer to sell at buy it now rather than auction because much of what I sell does not sell quickly and would not likely have many bids.

On the other hand I've sold a couple of iphones and those I did put on an auction but my start price was the least I would be happy selling them for. Popular items seem to do very well on ebay auctions. Its funny ebay always suggests a starting price of $0.99 saying you will get more bids.

This experience will help you with marketing your stuff on ebay. 73, Mike

I really dont consider this shill bidding because its such a small amount any buyer here who actually won would just pay for it and move on

Well FINE Hobo- you outbid my $4.25.
I felt the same way- if for some reason I snagged it at the $4.25 and paid post- I'd still have a tiny bit of meat left on the bone for profit!

Did you actually read the page I linked?

    Policy overview

Shill bidding happens when anyone—including family, friends, roommates, employees, or online connections—bids on an item with the intent to artificially increase its price or desirability. In addition, members cannot bid on or buy items in order to artificially increase a seller's Feedback or to improve the item's search standing.
What part of this don't you understand?

Not making a big deal out of it, but I am pointing something out. How you take it and what you do with it is up to you.

    As did I.
I placed a bid. If I were to win, I would pay him my bid and look to have a smooth transaction.
I didn't place a bid to "pump his auction price" I placed a bid to hopefully WIN the auction and complete the transaction!
