    Steam radiator (house ones) info

    I have 2 radiators that are in a house they from a steam boiler. As I remeber going to the scrap yard I see the radiators in a diffrent section? That being said what are they made off?? Are they just reg metal.. They worth more selling them on craigslist or scrap thanks..

    They sell as #1 Iron. I've seen them for sale on Craig's List, but I've also seen them for free.

    I knew a guy, 20 years ago, who was making a good business out of rebuilding them. He'd buy them, and he had enough of a variety that the could pretty much match any of the different component types and replace what was broken. He was an old codger, and he's long gone now, but you might want to investigate whether that kind of market still exists. Maybe you can get better than scrap price?
