    I normally get NZ$1.50/Kg for Extrusion Aluminium and less for cast Ali etc. That's a very good price,normally it'd be about NZ$1.25.

    But I will get NZ$2/Kg for Aluminium rims if they are only scuffed and fixable.

    They fill shipping containers with them and send it to somewhere in the Middle East where they recycle them by fixing and cleaning etc and sell them as ’Refurbished rims', like new.

    So check if there's a scrapbuyer near you who does this as well and if there is, take care of the rims when you remove the tyre.
