When I first watched the video, it was kind of pissing me off. Like someone was launching an attack against e-cycling and saying that it would all end up in the landfill regardless. Then I realized that it was your company made video. Well ... you put the 'K' in the wrong place. Aside from that, I think it is brilliant. Very well done.

    Awesome video as always Urban.

My day has been crap, so I thank you again for the video as it did give me a chuckle at certain points.

Anyhow, just wanted to say...excellent video.

You new folks should pay attention to guys like Urban. He does a good job at getting the word out on his services, does business right, an on top of all that...he makes some pretty awesome videos.

Keep it up Urban. I for one always enjoy these.

It's a really good video. Love the drawings & voice quality.

I'm not sure about the tactics. "There's the old philosophy that you should stand tall and cut down all the other trees."

    On the other hand .....

Grandma used to say " If you can't say anything good then don't say anything at all."

It might work better for you to ignore your competition ( who you resent ) and focus on what's good about you.

You know .... keep the advertising positive & upbeat ?

Scrappah : Thank you for your thoughts but to be honest the only thing I resent(not really but you used the word so I will also) is a opinion like yours that has no substance or understanding to what we do . The only competition we worry about is the landfill because more e waste is being discarded there than to responsible E Waste companies like ours and my "competition". If you did your research you would understand the dangers of donating computers to so called non profits that have no use for them. I don't see a lot of non profits giving out multiple lots of I series (except for one based in New York and Atlanta ) and the amount of machines we take in from non profits is huge . Unfortunately most of them still have hard drives with info on them . We specialize in data destruction and security all at no charge. We have 3 warehouses filled to capacity ( we are looking to hire really good dismantlers if you know any) and are very much ingrained in the community. We have given out and trained people on our business model and helped them set up brand new businesses in Birmingham, SC, and Jacksonville. We did not charge a cent for this and don't even buy material from 2 of them. We have quietly had computers rebuilt and had legal software loaded on them for multiples of people from friends children to a couple of Forum members who couldn't afford a computer all done without fanfare or promotion. We give teachers supply kits for kids each year so they don't have to go into their own pockets. We sponsor Stem Fair awards here and our Earth Day event every year gets bigger and more fun all done out of pocket . Does all this make us good people. Pretty much so.!!!! So to sum it up I am not sure why you felt this was about resenting and knocking down competition but you should sit down and watch it again with Grandma and see if you get the gist of it this time. If your ever in Tampa I would love for you to swing by and see our operation or if you by chancew are going to be in New Orleans in September at the convention I will gladly sit down and get to know you. Ill be the one having dinner and drinks with my competition ....

I understand the video and to be honest when I started I thought I could acquire every computer in the area but in the end it is just not feasible.........Thru my outlets I still go thru 100's per month (I doubt I'm at Urban's level though)........Either way what is pay for a top flight dismantler like myself.......I could roll a vacation and dismantle a couple thousand units all into one........LOL

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, and I can tell you that- That vid- is spot on, to the point, correct and fair.
Something that is sadly missing in most of the marketing world and one of the reasons I vacated the field.

I like it, I like it a lot- Well done!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

I know he's spot one with every thrift store/donation place I've ever visited.

They don't pull the Hard Drives, lest not the ones I've seen for sale that have been donated. An they charge some super dumb pricing on something that was donated an is out dated.

Anyhow...again excellent video an thank you for the kind words Urban.

Sirscrapalot - Great minds think a like. - Not me.

I know of at least one thrift store here in town that does not take them for just this reason.......The liability of someone elses data.......I'm sure the big ones like Goodwill take as many as they can get but I have rarely seen a computer for sale around here in a thrift store.......I think they are taking them in and sending them somewhere else to either be refurbished and or scrapped.........Either way I rarely frequent the non-profit scene around here so I wouldn't be really the one to know

Goodwill is one of those places. I see them sometimes in their Va stores, as I don't set foot in the one on my sandbar.(New folks, or folks who don't recall my beef with GW can feel free to search the archives...it's been documented. lol)

I agree tho one would think the liability issues would stop them. I know I'd never resell a computer with a HD that' hadn't been wiped. Just me tho, I'm not fond of being sued for such things. Of course some of the blame has to be put on the person donating.

    Sirscrapalot -

that was awesome and indeed I do get a lot of calls from people/charities with left overs not sold who think these computers are easily bought but really its only third world kids and libraries or something that buys the ones that are as old as I get but not old enough to be good vintage just that inbetween world lol
