    Did you throw money away?

What are some things you tossed out in the past, before you even knew you could've earned money by scrapping them instead? As for myself, besides small items there's
    1) gas stove 2) dehumidifier 3) furnace 4) washer

I used to pick up metal from businesses to recycle it in my spare time, before I actually realized I could sell it and still be recycling it at the same time.

I had an aluminum 4-cylinder engine sitting around here when I bought this place. Hauled it in and told them I didn't want any for money, just wanted to get rid of it.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

I was just talking to my boss, and he said they've been throwing away all the stuff I picked up for 16 years! He gave me a little corner in the warehouse and said I could put a gaylord there and just throw all the aluminum in that, and the boards I have to take off a few parts and make sure they're not repairable and they're mine too! 16 years of 200 pounds of aluminum a month! Heck I've been here for 2 years.... makes my stomach hurt.

I threw away a tv a week before I realized there was metal in it. Plus, during 2001 and 2002 when my house was being repaired so we could move in, we re-did all the wiring, ductwork, and I think some plumbing. Guess where it went. Here's a hint: it's big, square, and goes to the dump

Over the years I've practically given away three cars and countless appliances. Makes me sad now.

I had one similar to this only in yellow about 15 years ago, and got real mad because a head gasket blew and sold it to a guy for $150. Live and learn,,,

I didnt throw this away but was screwed out of them, during the clunker thing, I contacted a few delers to help set up the program . O knew the way the gov did things it would be complicated. sure enough i sound a huge nisson/mazda dealership, John lee Nisson, who was not going to participate because it was too complicated, I signed on as a consultant and set up the entire program, my pay was supposed to be the trade ins. free and clear. long story short. I took in 48 trades. I figgured the value after stripping tires rims batteries and cats, and getting $200 ea. for the stripped cars my take was between $7000 asnd $12,000, a week before it ended they handed me a check for $1500, and said they could handle it from then on. no thank you no kiss no lubricant. I have a signed contract, but no money to hire a lawyer to sue.

during the clunker thing, and having been in the car bis most of my life I knew the gov paper work would be a night mare ( it was) any way I found a huge dealership that was not going to participate because it was too complicated. John Lee Nissa/Mazda. I write up a contract as a consaltant, with my pay being the traded in clunkers. we took in 48 trades on the clunker bill. I figgured after removing good tires, alu rims, batteries and, cats and selling the bodies to the crussher for $200 ea. my take woulsd be between $7000 and $12,000. to make a long story short, opun notice from the gov that the program was ending, they habded me a $1400 check and said they could handle it from then on. No thank you, no Kiss, no lubricant, I have a signed contract, but cant afford an attorney to handle it.
