Not a bad little haul

Just happened upon one of the better scores I've had lately.

Craigslist ad in the free section for scrap on the curb, and it was only a mile away.

Stove
Dryer
Bathtub
15" 5 lug steelie
3" aftermarket muffler that's brand new
4' long tailpipe
A couple of fans
2 old rusted electrical main switch boxes
Branches from an artificial christmas tree.
Microwave
A couple of cable modems and a wireless router
Macintosh Powerbook G3 laptop
no power supplies with any of the electronics, and they were rained on so I doubt any of them are any good.

I had the Toyota packed and strapped pretty good.

After I got everything stripped and sorted, ready to go to the yard:

560lbs @ $3 a hundred

Nice one last week I drove 40 mile for a washing machine ended up with 2 washers a tumble dryer a chest freezer and a large fridge freezer that's got two compressors on just got to find the time now to strip them down

Those of you picking up appliances-check with used appliance stores if there are any near you instead of scrapping I get 10-20 bucks each minimum-they even buy non working units from me.

Simple hobo, leverage. I would stand it up on one end, lay it down on the tailgate, then pick up the other end. Sharing the weight with the tailgate. Ive moved lots of heavy, aqward things. You just have to think about it.

I would if we had any. Because of the ones for cheap or free on craigslist and the local flea market, those stores don't stay open long. Neither do the used furniture stores.
Also, people are so cheap around here it's pathetic. They want everything to come with a warranty, even if it's dirt cheap.
A few years ago, i tried selling my side by side Kenmore fridge that I didn't need anymore for $75. No calls. Lowered it to $50, still nothing.

When i brought it all home, I was by myself. I put the stove in first, then propped the edge of the tub on the tailgate and slid it on the bedliner until it was in. Then I bear hugged the dryer and put it on top of the tub and ratchet strapped it down. After I got it home and sorted and stripped some of the stuff, I had a friend help me reload it to what you see in the pic. With the Toyota being a 2wd, it sits low enough to load that kind of stuff easily by myself. And the plastic bedliner helps a lot, too.
