some days you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug...

Well, I was the bug today. I did a little detour before work (and checking some traps at a couple of farmsteads) today by going into the bigger town to drop off a tv and old monitor "made nice" at the city place and then up the hill to my main non ferrous guy. Usually before 9 on a Tues morn there would probably be almost no one dropping anything off (this operation is a drive through deal). I get there with a little #2 Cu and a few Al cans and there's only 1 guy ahead of me. But he's unloading a whole back pick-up load of what looked like dissembled Al lawn chairs (they turned out to be dissembled Al old people/gimped up folks walkers!!). Anyway, they brought out a forklift with 2 metal gaylord bins and the guy bringing them in, a worker, and then the shop owners spent 13+ minutes pulling these pieces out and getting them in the bins. Maybe the guy will use his check to fix his back window of the pu as it was clear plastic coated. I was in and out in less than half the time.

Maybe next time I'll be the windshield

I feel like a king at my local yard. I've got the whole place to myself these days.

The dump spot for shred is about a quarter acre that's usually piled 25ft high.

Yesterday, it looked like there was enough there to fill 2 tri-axles. That's the first time I've ever seen their shred pile that small.

I always feel like the bug because the last thing to go through my mind is my butt.
Give back more to this world than we take.
