    Afterburners from jet engine?

Anyone ever recycled these? I got a call this morning from a guy who had 3, wanted me to come get them and give him a little $. I was hesitatent because I had never heard about them and wound up missing out on the whole deal I found a buyer who was gonna pay me $600 (after he sold them), he sold them for $400 to a neighbor..sorry long story, any ways, what did I miss out on? A ton of money? He had 3 at an estimated 600lbs total of titanium alloy.. Just let me know, trying to become wiser as I get older

I'm sure an expert will weigh in...but I just looked at this site with metal prices, and it says under "rare metals" titanium is at $1.00/lb - so going by that, it was roughly $600 worth? (give or take).

Ti is selling on average for $1.40 per pound. Its likely those parts you mentioned were not titanium... they could have been inconel which sells at $4 to $6 per pound. Next time you have something shoot me an email tim@aircraftdemolition.com

Agreed. Posts that simply encourage someone to contact a poster's company will be deleted or edited as "advertising". This is not meant to discourage helpful posts with useful information as we've had in the past.

People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Seems the difference would be that you didn't join, then spam the board in 5 minutes.

With that logic the whole putting a ".com" after your name is advertising aswell

Déjà vu. Any one else see the pattern. Hint - politics. You can be any one you want to be when hiding behind a computer screen. I think we are seeing the introduction of the forth generation, both on the forum and in politics.

I don't know. I think if it was true he would have been a little more creative.

I know he made people mad but you have to admit, he's a smart guy. He probably has a giant snow blower powered by a jet engine he built himself.

You are correct. Most of us could not identify those metals without a PMI gun and then would not know how to dismantle. It would be an interesting thread if you took the time to educate us.
