What to do with new battery?

Hey guys so recently a guy gave me a car battery and said that it was never used. It looks new and I was wondering if there was any value besides scrap value (ie craigslist). If so how can I make sure it's a good battery and how much should I ask for?

Bring it to an auto parts store - they do free testing of batteries. You could also get a cheap load tester from harbor freight, although I don't know anything about the accuracy of them. As for what to ask...no warranty and no record of usage maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of original price? Never sold batteries before...i keep working ones.
