    brass ends on hoses

    anyone know of a simple way of separating the (garden) hose from the brass ends...without burning it? it goes under dirty brass at my yard

    Try a large pair of scissors. Cut as close to the brass as possible.
    There's nothing more fun and more effective than hitting something repeatedly with a sledgehammer

    I do. That is what they consider dirty though.

    I had a few brass fittings with aluminum that I couldn't undo. Ended up slicing through it with a cutoff wheel, then separating it. Might give that a try if you have a grinder and a cutoff wheel.
