    Plastic value

I had made contact with a company in New Zealand that deal in plastic.
They told me that the crt plastic around the monitors has no value because its fire retardant....
I thought that plastic was a good grade to sell due to it being fire retardant.
Has there been a reform with this plastic making it impossible to sell?
.......might be a kiwi thing LOL

There is a controversy about brominated flame retardants. In Europe some of them have even been baned. I'm not sure I believe that they are a serious problem. People seem to be way too ban happy now days.

This link seem to explain it.

...there was talk that china are going to start a heavy tax on products that cause waste .I know before our plant was sold out that customers from china want the product completed instead of sending them the raw product to them ...due to these new tax levels etc.
makes me wonder how will this effect the flow of plastic into china ....if the speculation at work was correct.
