You pose a very difficult question, as there are to many variables unforeseen.
It would take some detail to give any type of reasonable answer.

This reminds me of the TV shows such as Auction Hunters, or Storage Wars. There's really no way to tell until you get in there and find out.

I can't imagine there being enough copper in there to cover the cost of getting rid of the rest of the house, or was it your intention to just let it fall down?

If you pay $200 do you get the lot that the house is sitting on? Another thing to think of is the fixtures. People buy up old style door knobs, doors, faucits and all that stuff. There might be more money there other than just scrap.

Can you gut it and then hand it off to the local fire dept for a burn practice?

I wish I could come across something like that for 200 bucks. I would secure it and use it for scrapping. As it is now I split time between my brothers garage and dad's property. It pisses them both off, but I haven't made enough to get a property of my own yet.

Sounds to good to be true! Are you saying you get the deed or just the rights to the scrap?
If you are buying the land for $200.00 do a title search and check for tax liens.

As far as the wire in the house is it copper or, as in many older homes, aluminum?
I have worked construction all my life and find some houses have copper for drain and waste lines, yet others are PVC.
Having a basement, sounds as if a lot of the pipe and wire is exposed. I would not know about a basement, here in FL, it would fill with water. LOL

    Well that sounds great!
I would like that kind of deal myself!

Good luck, let us know how it goes.
