    15,000 pounds mixed boards

First, this is not for the scrap yard I started for the nonprofit I work at. This would be a personal business venture. I have an opportunity to buy 15,000 lbs of mixed boards for $.20 per lb. I haven't inspected the lot yet but if it was a average mix does this sound like a good price?

if it's mostly low board, not really unless there is a lot of heatsinks and transformers. if it is a lot of mid grade and higher, yes.

If you could post up pictures of a sample of the boards, we could give you a much better idea.

If it is a average mix, yes get it. Of course, inspect it first but contact some larger buyers here and see what info/help they can offer..pictures are always helpful to provide to them as well.

If it is a good mix go for it. Even if motherboards are just 10% then you should do fine. Anything more than that is a bonus.

Looks like you are not that far away from some sellers either. So shipping should be cheap.

Thanks everyone. I will have to see what the mix is and I'm hoping I can figure out the logistics and finance part of it. I've been planning so starting into E scrap but this is much bigger than I thought I would be starting out with. But if all goes well it will keep me busy when my job ends in July.

You might end up with a small mix of motherboards but a better mix of double green (which are med. grade) which would be all gravy.

I would go for that deal all day long. I get at least .20# for low grade so I could make a killing on that deal.

Take lots of pictures and show us, if you're able to make this purchase. I'd be very interested to hear how it all turns out.

Best of luck though, either way.
