    new to the scrap seen

O.K. guys listen i have about a pick up truck worth of romex wire ,i'm stripping it so i can get all i can for it,now i have some questions for you guys!can you guys tell me how much romex wire i would need for a lb so i can get a rough estimate how much i will make?now how much money can you pull out of a tv,or microwave,or stove or fridge, please give details with estimates, now do i need to be licensed to scrap metals ect?is it worth the time to strip out the wiring ect.. in the stove ,fridge ect or just bring it in full?can you give me some ideas of ways to get my name out there i was thinking posting a few ads on craigslist, and searching free stuff on craigslist for free appliances and stuff, and when you strip wire is there an easier way to strip it than my method?I have been tying my wire to a post then using a wire stripper and walking backwards cutting off about evrey 3 feet but i keep dinging up the wire!will that dinged up wire cost me with the scrap yar even if it's stripped clean?

I'll try to answer some of them...

You don't need to be licensed to scrap.

Don't mess with refridgerators. They're full of freon which is illegal to release

Definately strip the non-ferrous stuff (copper, brass, aluminum, etc.) out of appliances

In addition to posting on craigslist, go around to auto repair shops and any companies that deal with metal and offer to haul away their metal for free. If that doesn't work, offer them a small percentage

If you handle a large volume of wire, check online for wire stripping machines.

Anything bright and shiny will get the same price at the yard, no matter what condition

    Good luck

There's nothing more fun and more effective than hitting something repeatedly with a sledgehammer
