    Latest deal in the works

Found myseld a local buyer for some e waste. Some meaning he doesnt buy everything...

He did tell me he buys Mobos. At .25lb!!! So that got me thinkin, I can make this work for me. I Offered to buy them off him for a bit more than that. And he agreed. Havent discussed prices yet. Im gonna have to keep it low if im selling to guys on the forum. Shipping from canada and all lol

also gonna see if I can buy other stuff off him that he doesnt currently buy. He does not buy power supplies or CPUs. Reason for not buying CPUs is he just doesnt know what they are worth. If i can offer him prices he can work with he may start buying them.

Im pretty confident with this one and will keep you all updated.
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

You make lurking sound like a bad thing.

I like your hopeful up and coming deal. Keep you mouth tight, play it off as if you do it for fun or something. Too much enthusiasm and they may think they are missing out on a lot of money. Mike.

That is exactly what im thinking too. He says he refines everything he gets. When I asked if he bought mobos he said "only for .25lb because theres not much on them thats valuable. Just these little brown capacitors" I guess he doesnt know gold plugs into gold.. cause even I know they have more than that on them..

Iv been emailing him and really im making it sound like im making only a little more than im offering. In all honesty, if I have to ship stuff, that eats up profits fast. Just for ****s and giggles I looked into shipping 25lbs to a few of the buyers locations, almost 50 bucks. And thats for the guys closer to me. Will have to see what kind of volume he gets. If its anything substantial I may just wait till I get a truck load and drive stuff myself.

Anyways. I Dont want to count my chickens before they hatch so im gonna leave it at that and see if I can hash out a deal with this guy.

    Jord,
Great idea you have...I hope you make some decent coin on this.

Just a suggestion: Have you considered driving your stuff just across the border, to, say, Buffalo, and put it on a courier or in the US mail there? You have to factor in your time and cost of your rig but if you combine it with a trip to Toronna or something (take your girl to the opera!)...but I have always found that shipping within the US is 'way less costly than shipping across the border. So I have US stuff shipped to a drop just across the border from me and go get it myself. I have never done the reverse, though--exporting stuff--but I can't see why it wouldn't work about the same.

You would save a few bucks on customs, too, by setting the clearance up with a broker but running it across yourself. Saves some hassle at customs by letting the experts at the broker do the paperwork for you.

I'm pretty sure no matter how you slice it, you are probably looking at shipping in Gaylord quantities to get the shipping cost down to something you can live with. Maybe not huge loads, but a couple of gaylords at a time. They would still fit in your pickup and you could drop them off at a freight company across the line.

Ok well heres the deal. He wants to set it up like this. He will save all the mobos he gets, and will just give them to me at no charge, if he can buy my RAM and PCI for 10 and 2 bucks a pound. Seeing as how the only other e waste buyer in canada iv found is in quebec is offering under 10 bucks, And if i sell that to our US buyers, shipping may not be worth it and i might end up getting less.

Doesnt sound like a bad deal to me. BUT I dont think he realizes im small time e waste. Lol iv aquired 6 towers to date since starting..

tryin to get the ball rollin here. Paid for a top ad on a big classified site offering to buy PCs, seeing as nobody else is offering to buy em. Figured id have a bit of an edge. No such luck. few emails asking what i pay but never a reply once they see im paying 4-5 bucks per tower. No solid hits. Gonna keep at it though, i'll get something soon enough i hope.

I agree with bear, an the free mbs, let you save up a bunch of weight to ship south of the border or to where ever you decide. Either way I wish ya luck my friend.

An Miked, wasn't saying as a bad thing. Just teasing my friend. Just seen your thanks there an wanted to include you in the fun.

You should find out why he just wants ram and pci cards. I'm thinking he just wants the fingers off of them. Maybe you can just sell him trimmed fingers instead, and keep the rest.

Yeah I think hes just into refining the easy stuff. I shouldnt say easyer, I dunno if its any easyer but im sure its the most profitable. Still discussing with him but we pretty well have a deal worked out.

See if he is just cutting the fingers off, if he is ask him if you can have the fingerless pieces back with the mobos.

Good call. What grade would those be considered with the fingers chopped?
