Looks like it takes over 1500 tabs to make a pound so I'm just not seeing this as being a good deal considering you have to take the time to pull the tab and then pay to ship...Good Luck.

Very true. However, I am hoping there are some scrap yards out there that receive them already separated.

If you covered shipping would be the only way I could help. I get .85 for cans as is. Shipping would hurt from AZ to Ill

Are we talking tabs or cans? We could work something out if we are talking tabs only.

Hey, do you want the pull tabs or the zip tabs that stay on the can or both? I saw around 10 lbs of the zip tabs at a local yard a couple of weeks ago. They may get in more, but they will cost me somewhere in the area of the price Hobo is talking about, so adding shipping does make it hard to work.

If you are talking about higher scrap value than the rest of the can, then read this. snopes.com: Pull Tab Redemption Rumor

Otherwise I would assume it is a crafty thing. People want them for craft items.

Wow, that reminds me of when I was in the cub scouts we were collecting those for some reason or another. I do remember the dialysis machine thing as well when I was a boy. I remember picturing a type of vending machine where you inserted these tabs for a certain amount of time. Like, the machine ran on pull tabs

I pulled tabs for a guy I work with for 6 months, I threw them in a 5 gallon bucket.. after 6 months it didn't even cover the bottom of the bucket. One of those things that makes it hard to even want to try and save up.

I could get you only 3 or 4 lbs a year of tabs... I am sure you want much more than that...

Good for you finding an item that that others aren't buying. As a buyer doing the same with other items, I wish you luck and hope you get some people with some tabs.

try the Ronald McDonald house. They get them by the truckload around here. I sure they go to the scrap yard as I saw there trucks at the collection site.

I've seen some great stuff made from them.
