Just out of curiosity, why do Al/Cu heatsinks pay less than extruded? I have some that are big extruded heatsinks with a plug (usually about .25 lb) of bright Cu in the bottom, or a Cu plate. Seems like those would be more valuable, not less.

Take a sawzall and cut them in half, copper plug falls out. Now you got extruded. Or get a press and press them out. It is quite easy and worth the time. I just turned and burned over a 100 lbs of copper doing it. Went for #1 price.

Thank You Ozzy214. Recycling and scrapping can be meticulous sometimes but totally worth it.

Yes, recycling Fluorescent bulbs seem to be an issue for many. Since we have started taking Fluorescent Bulbs it didn't take long for the intake to double, then triple and its still growing everyday. Its almost a full time department these days.

Why so low across the board? Seems your foundation is more of a traditional yard now dabbling in ewaste, which is fine & I personally would like to see more yards take the plunge. That said (unless I'm reading wrong), your posted prices (7/26/13) for traditional scrap (copper, alum, etc) are from competitive. Not trying to hit you below the belt, rather trying to understand what your niche is & frankly how ACE can Help myself & others make a profit off our material.
