    Granddaughter learned well

I think I wrote last year or so about my grandkids from Missouri coming here and hauling some scrap aluminum. Well, got a call from their mother (my daughter) yesterday about the granddaughter. She's a high school senior and her class went on a trip to Europe. She hadn't gotten enough money or maybe just wanted a little more. She asked her future step-father if she could go through a junk pile in his back lot. I guess he and his two kids (20's and 16) thought that was crazy going to so much work. The scrap yard is only a couple miles away from their house. She came back with a check for a little over $300 and it wasn't so funny anymore.

People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Good for her, Mick. I hope the others learned what a bit of hard work can reward.

I bet your Granddaughter is successful in life with her great attitude.
If it wasn't for the $ in $crap, it would just be.....

Great job Mick in teaching uour granddaughter a skill she'll be able to use her whole life! Give her a big SMF pat on the back from all of us! Not only did she learn something but she had the drive to follow through on it.

Tell her for me. My dad told me once

Only problem when people find out how much you can make, you got every ****, tom, and harry with a truck scrapping. Why I do more junk removal now than metal.

Tell your granddaughter, I said congratulations! She will enjoy the money a lot more, since she earned it

    I love it !
My 5 yr old grandaughter asked me the other day if we could strip some more copper. I save the little spools and stuff easy to wind off and she loves doing it. Hoping she'll grow up knowing the value of recycling/scrapping.
