    Cool Literally Throwing Money Away

Doing some curb shopping I saw some steel patio chairs and decided to grab them. There was a box on top of the garbage can and I noticed baseball cards inside. I grabbed the cards out of the box and underneath this is what I find.

(Got an error message that I'm not allowed to post links yet.) My score was a Roosevelt Dime Collection book.

I have been laughing ever since. I can't believe people are actually throwing money away. Face value is $5.00, I'm not sure if any of the coins are worth more than face value.

Hope the neighborhood kid that left it sitting there while he went to play kickball doesn't come back to find them stolen...

I would have went to the door and asked, but I do my route at 5:00 a.m. on my way to my day job. If I didn't take them, the garbage collector would have before anyone was even awake yet. The baseball cards were from the early '80's and I only recognized a few names. Based on the other belongings that were curbside it looks like mom and dad finally cleared out their now 30 something sons bedroom. What surprised me most was that they didn't pop the dimes out of the book to retrieve them.

Yes, please tell us that they were 64 and earlier. Someday I wish to hit a score like that. Great find.

    All clad still $5.00
All silver $83.50! And was worth alot more than that a few weeks ago!
As for the baseball cards not much to look for there. I doubt any would be worth more than $5.00

One it's basketball, they've never had super high value like baseball cards. With the exceptions of course, for your Jordons, Bryants, Shaqs, etc.

Another thing..90s cards all seemed to suck once past 91. For baseball, football or basketball. They were so over produced it wasn't even funny. Unless you had the high end cards, think the expensive versions of Fleer, Upperdeck, etc. I still have my football card collection and baseball, an will continue to hold it...I put a lot a time in sorting, collecting, etc. Lets not even discuss money.../groan.

This is all my opinion and i have no scientific proof to back it up cept my own eyes and experiences.

Wasn't it a Honus Wagner that just sold for 1.3 mil? So some do still have value! Just might have to dig all the way back to the 20's/30's. ha!
