My first try at Ebay. Old unused SATA Desk Top Hard Drives

If anyone here is interested in these I have about fifty to sixty more of them. All of them have been opened for some reason but I was told that they have never been used. They look like new, no dirt, scratches, etc, that you would expect to find on hard drives that have been in service.

I got these from a big pizza restaurant chain. They were in their warehouse and they were just going to throw them away because they don't use these for their systems anymore.

You might want to charge a little less in shipipng as well. Now many people will pay $12 to ship a $5 drive. You might also have better lucks sellng them in lots. I dont have much luck selling 40gb drives by the singles.

Those are going to be a hard sell for you on ebay with your S/H being so high. You would do better putting them in a lot like PTS said, maybe a medium priority I think you can fit 8 safely. But with your low feedback rating start your auction with the minimum you are willing to take so you don't get burned. my .02

Yeah I need to go to the PO tomorrow and check out the flat rate boxes.

I had sold quite a bit of these Hard Drives on amazon for $20 each plus $8 for shipping.

Cannot take the shipping on my Ebay listing down to $5 because if someone wins the bid at .01 and they are in Cali it could cost me $11 to ship that one hard drive to them.

Then make it free shipping and start th sale at 6.99. Also you may get more looks at your listing if you spelled "drive" right.

You can probably still edit the title

And I would sell them in lots of five with $11 flat rate shipping and start them at $19. If you get a taker, you could sell them more of them at the same price and no extra shipping.

Bob, try and get samples of the "regional" boxes, too. You may have to order them from USPS on line. They are all free, and delivered free!! I have saved a few good bucks this week using them. Had some sales that were in state, not that far in other states, that shipped cheaper using them.
Good Luck!! In a few months, it will all start to make sense and fall into place. AND by then...you will make enough on fleecebay, to take us all to lunch ;-)

Why would I take the price down to $7 with free shipping if it could cost over $10 to ship? If someone got it for $7 and lived out west I'd be $4 in the negative.

Not with a flat rate, you pay the same price if it's one state or totally out west

Are we to assume that "opened" means that the HDs have been removed from some form of packaging or ?
As already stated by many, your shipping at $15 ea, is WAY to much for one drive.

AWWW Senyor! I was wondering why you say fifteen to ship, it is because you are in California! C Sin yor, this one hard drive weighs two pounds and shipping from kentucky standard shipping usps would cost me about $15. When I click the link it says shipping 5.95, to ship it to myself.

If you use ebay shipping label small flat rate box is only like $5.10 If it wont fit in that try a padded flat rate envelope they are only 5.35. Dont ever use parcel select its a rip off it the item will fit in a flat rate box. Wait what am i saying use parcel select I need a raise Also there are reginal rate boxes that work real well also. A regional rate a box I can fit 10 drives in and ships for under $10 anywhere in the US.

There is a 70 lb weight limit for them acutally.

And like 15 lbs for a flat rate regional box.

Also, to the OP, how have you not known about FRB? They have been around for quite some time and makes things so much easier to ship.

I still don't think you grasp the concept though. I can ship from NJ to CA for $5.xx in a SFRB

Don't expect to have those drives arrive in working condition if you just stuff them in a flate rate box without padding around each drive. I had somebody send me a box of drives years ago and over half were faulty because they were shipped like that. They bounce around in shipping, shock is bad.

I have a good rate of working drives when people just stack them in a flat rate box. Most drives are rated to 300 G's for shock damage. Most thing I find breaking are the conectors from being shipped facing outside of the box. Now I wouldnt ship them this way to an ebay buyer but if you were shipping them to me it would be ok for the most part.

PTS's price list has them @2.50 ea (which is more than i could pay) so i'd suggest using the large flat rate box and stacking them in there with maybe some buble wrap around th outside of the stack. that way you can minamize your shipping cost and maxamize your profit.
