What would you Guys Pay for these Cars?

My neighbor has the following vehicles sitting in his trees a early 90's Taurus, 3 Tempos, a Dodge Grand Caravan, a 70's Dodge Cargo van, a early 90's VW car and a Cordoba. I would like to buy a bulk of them to scrap but dont know what to offer and still make money, I know a lot of them have catalytic converters. Scrap is bringing $200 a ton in my area right now. What do you guys think?

how much will it cost you to take them to the scrap yard?
what eqipment do you have?(how much work is it to load and unload vehicles)
I take cars to the pick and pull, they pay about 15% above tin and don't deduct for tires

I most times pay a little less then scale weight and make my money on the Cats, Aluminum rims, Aluminum radiator and AC condenser, Copper wire, Battery, Cores
and easy to pull >> Easy to store >> Easy to ship >> Parts to sell on eBay Like side Mirrors, Climate controls, Head light assemblies, Tail lamp assemblies, window motors and cup holders

I use this site to check for weights >> Hoegh Cube Display
$200.00 a ton makes for easy math
    1995 Taurus 4door sedan is 2998 pounds >> Call it 3000 pounds or $300.00
    So I would pay $250.00

Local yard just went to $210.00 today at lunch

depends how far you can get him down on price and still have a fair deal, i wouldnt pay more than $200 each for early 90's. I buy nonrunning cars for $500-$700, but 15 years old is the oldest i will take, much older than that and the parts dont sell as well. I part them out and then haul the carcases for shred.
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com
I AM ACTIVELY BUYING ESCRAP OF ALL TYPES. BOARDS, RAM, CPUS AND MUCH MORE

I have a 16 ft car trailer with a winch, i could run it home pretty much right around the corner, and strip them down. Trouble is i don't knowe if the guy will sell. I figure walk up with cash and let it do the talking

first of all i want to thank johnc, i saved that to my favorites immediatly!!!!!, i normally used google and just curb weighted the model, rascore gives me the weight but i have totype in the vin. i ran through a couple models right quick and based on my experience it was pretty close to right on

as far as bidding on the cars like john said 200 a ton is easy to figure 10 cents a lb which is what i base my estimate on no matter what scrap is buying for, i have a $200 mininum for a complete car with title, so my bids would be

    tempos $200 apiece
    taurus $ 200 to 250
    grand caravan 200 to 400
    70s van 200 to 400
    vw car $200
cordoba dont know what it is but 200

the ranges are because i buy all my cars on the fly on the phone, this doesnt pertain to you because its your neighbor but,,,, i dont ever look at them until a deal is made you dont want anything swaying your judgement, listen while they are describing the car, a VERY WISE MAN on this site says profit begins when your buy, if they say they want it out of my yard or the wife said it has to go, start out at $200 or even less no matter the vehicle they will probably say yes,. in your situation id offer 1000 and just see if they take it. on the cats don't count on any of the fords being full some will be but i assure you outa 4 fords you will have some empties , they are the cheapest of cats except aftemarkets and the hardest to cut off. the chysler depending on the van could be tricky but are almost always full and pay pretty good. the vw ive never had one but would be a foriegn of some sort, NEVER count on your cats for profit as i had 1 empty today and of course it was a ford

I wouldnt pay more than a $1000 for all of them. I bought 2 80's model lincolns, 2003 escort, 2 80's model fairmonts, 1995 buick century, chevy celebrity, 1995 saturn, and a 1990 prism plus four big industrial a/c and a pile of batteries today for $930. And you can never count on the converters because you dont know if they are full or not.

Cory, Cordoba is a Chrysler, hot rodders use the front ends off of those when converting an older vehicle to disc brakes.
Nebraskascrapper12, if you get the cars check with any local speed shop and see if anyone wants the front end for a couple hundred.

I might pay $300 for the caravan but everything else i probably wouldn't pay over 200 bucks, since they are pretty old cars. Dont think the owner will be so reluctant to sell them though, most of the time when people have a lot of cars in their yard its for a reason(their stupid lol). Most people just dont like to part with their old junk cars because for some reason they think their worth a fortune but i hope you prove me wrong, good luck Oh by the way i have people contacting me everyday from all over the U.S. somehow my phone number has gotten out there but anyway anyone interested in being contacted when someone calls me from their state can send me a message with their contact info an i will gladly do so. Im not trying to get anything in return i just thought it would be a creative way to turn yall on to people looking to sell junk cars when you message me be sure to let me know what area you are from so i will know if it works for you or not. If this offends anyone feel free to delete it or let me know and i wont offer this suggestion again.
