    DDR2 PC2-3200 Non ECC RAM

Looking to buy at least 2 sticks of working RAM for a Dell Dimension 4700. It is currently running with a single stick of 256 RAM and I'm looking to upgrade. According to the manual, I can use either 400 or 533 Mhz.

You can probably run faster RAM than 3200 in that machine. Check crucial.com and you can put in your system specs and it will show you what you can use. All DDR2 RAM will work in that machine, but the newer stuff may run at a slower speed.

I have several sticks of 3200, 4200, and 5300 1GB DDR2 if you are interested.

Auburn -- I keep debating whether to stick with 400 Mhz or go up to 533 Mhz. I already checked on that very website as well as with the manual and that's all it will support. I'll send you a PM in a few minutes. All I really do is surf the net, run GnuCash, and spreadsheets.

Jg -- I was hoping to deal directly with someone here. It would save you the fees anyway and put a few more pennies in your pocket. Like that credit card commercial says, "Who doesn't want more cash?"

Scrap -- Thanks. I was hoping to get a matched pair if I could. I'll keep you in mind if nothing else pans out.

DONTY BUY THESE. You want DDR2 not DDR I agree with the $20 price on DDR matched pair of 1gb sticks. I sell them for the same price. However if you want DDR2 1gb matched pair I sell them for $15. Send me a PM and ill sell you a set via paypal invoice system I like saving fees. Ill even give you a SMF discount. Also you can always buy the fastist ram possible almost all boards will downgrade the ram chip to the max the board can use.

D'oh! PTS, I replied to your PM then came here. Your post answered the question I just asked. I hate when that happens!

Yeah good working matched pairs will sell for that price all day long. The hard part is getting the matched pairs of 1gb sticks in old ddr ram.

Not to hijack the thread or sound like a dumb@$$ but how do you know when you have a matched pair?

And batch number if you really want to get technical. Not so sure it matters much now but it use tomake a difference back in the pc100 days.

Hijack all you want, that's cool. I was going to submit a support ticket to have them remove this thread but now I'm thinking to leave it. There's some good info shared in this thread and I'd hate for it to disappear.
