    Great place for electronic scrap

Today a guy brought in a second load of boards that he got from Verizon. Turns out they are converting their old systems to fiber optic. As a result, they are throwing away all of their old cabinets which are full of boards. Today he got an entire pickup truck load of boards which were still in boxes. He got them for hauling them out. There were hundreds of pounds. Tomorrow his is picking up a box truck load as well as a pickup truck load. For those of you around the country, might be worthwhile contacting any phone companies around you. Good luck.

Wow, thanks for the heads up!

That's pretty crazy. Is it possible to get a few pictures?

What type of Verizon location was it? Probably not a corporate office but what should I be looking for if I want to find similar places in my area? Thx

I checked Verizon in my area and it was a no go... Kinda lame, the manager that I talked to said that they cannibalize older phones to be reused again... I will be calling around other local business's for other scrapping opportunities.
