    Any motorcycle guys/gals here?

Got this thing unloaded and considering selling it for parts. Any opinions of what it's worth? Just wanting to sell it for more than I'd get to scrap it.

    If it matters, it's a '74 and supposedly a 650.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Definitely worth more than scrap. People are real big on Yamaha bobbers. Google "Yamaha bobber" and see results. Put it in CL or Ebay as "Yamaha for bobber" as ask around $100 or more. It is that motor people like.

Thanks, JPete. $100 is what I was figuring. But I'd never heard of "Bobber". I'll look it up.

I'd break that on down into front end, motor, and frame, and list em each for a hundred. How to's should be easy enough on Google, or even a bike forum, might even be one specific to Yamaha or "Bobbers". Do you have a year model?

Also, those type motors are frequently used on go-cart racing, possibly even for dune buggies. If you're ambitious enough with it, shipping wouldn't be that difficult. Prices on Ebay might be worth a search as well

Not only "Bobbers" but "Cafe Racers" and "Flat Track" replicas that are street legal. If there was somehow you could get the title for the frame from the people you got it from, the value of the frame would double at a minimum. If you are going to separate parts, I would take the wheel off the front end and sell it separate, and sell the motor separate from the frame.

lol, and the fenders be easy sell and easy ship, the handlebars and gauge cluster too, front forks shouldn't be a major shipping hassle either. You'll likely have to break the mufflers off to get the motor out, so they could go separate too. That only leaves the motor and frame that will be most difficult to ship, but somebody who wants it will definitely pay the shipping. I've palletized a number of larger items, and it wasn't really difficult, being a carpenter and having a cordless drill, plenty of screws, and some scrap plywood in the barn. The items that were too heavy to lift, I could get them off the truck onto the porch, set pallet in the truck, move it back onto the pallet and build the crate around it. Then at the freight terminal, they'd just grab it off the truck with their lift. People 500 or 1000 miles away or more didn't mind at all a $100 or $150 shipping over the drive. (I even charged once, $40, for the crating)

    I am into motorcycles.
Scrap wise, i got a incomplete bobber project from someone. It started as a honda 350, but the frame was chopped. It had a nice seat and fenders. I parted it out and made almost 300 if i remember right. Sold the tires, engine, seat and fenders. Too bad i couldnt get any paperwork for it
When i was younger, i got a honda 450 for free. Used to ride it around my neighborhood. It didnt have a working clutch so it was a 2 person toy. I ended up stripping it and melting the engine in a fire? Seemed like a good idea at the time:confused:

Thanks again, JPete. Sold it three hours after I listed it.

I was picking up 3 all in one fax machines, and 3 towers the other day first thing in the morning before work. I got the the name of this guy because the woman who i clicked with at the local donation center works for him during the week and volunteers at the donation center on the weekend where she gives me all of their computers and printers that people sneak in in boxes with clothes on top. anyway, the guy is driving this:

its a 1937 fully restored Indian. just the look of that leather made me stop and take a picture.
