    scrapping door lock sets

    is most of this steel? zinc? Any suggestions on scrapping lock sets?

    That's a good question, they could be SS, Aluminum, brass, or just plain ol tin

    The yard I take mine to gives me #2 brass prices it was like 1.90 lb.

    Most of them are steel, with maybe a little bit of brass or SS. Best way to tell is use a magnet. The vast majority of the ones I scrap are steel as they are magnetic.
