    FOund a intresting auction to watch with lots of gold

    7 Pentium Pro Processors and 7 Gold Cap Processors High Gold Recovery | eBay




    I like to watch ebay auctions from time to time this ones got me curious.

    I do like this but the price is way to high for me I buy pros for $7 to resell maybe as high as $10 as for the rest I would do $10 on them but usually do not buy on ebay unless its minutes left and can snag um real cheap

    There is only .33 grams of gold per Pentium Pro. If a refiner were to process these chips, they might break even if they didn't have to pay for chemicals and acids, power, time, effort and energy (labor) etc.

    When you see gold so blatant, people tend to think there is far more value than there actually is. You have to remember however that the big giant gold plate on the top of a Pentium Pro is barely gold plated, and only for looks. The heat spreader is actually made up of a tungsten alloy. And the other chips although good to process, just don't make the auction worth while to purchase and process, for a refiner at least.

    Not to discourage, it does look like a great lot, it's just the price is not great at all.

    If you're going to try to snipe auctions at the last moment, sign up for one of the auction sniper services. They are free or at least pretty cheap. I used to use auctionstealer.com.
