Toyota or Nissan mini truck..best of both worlds. Fuel economy and hauling capability. 1000 lbs is no sweat, especially if you get a long bed "one ton" rated chassis.
The Fords are about $10 each higher than what I'd get out here, the Nissan about $15 higher and the Jeeps about the same. Gotta love NorCal, higher cost of living and lower scrap prices!
That's crazy, we're struggling with $125/ton here in NorCal. I sell almost all of my complete vehicles to Pick N Pull (they have a couple in AR so you might've heard of them) and only sell bare...
Would've got a lot more than scrap value for the fenders, hood and rear doors but oh well...
you getting over $200/ton for auto bodies right now? envious...
Sounds like you need some new friends...I personally have trouble being friends with unreliable people.
I like diablo's too. I bought a cheap white one at OSH and it's lasted a long time too, but I can't remember the brand off the top of my head.
Yeah I know of where you live...I was stationed at Camp LeJeune and lived there and in Hubert, NC from 2003-2006. Maybe we'll move back to NC someday.
I40 ends in Wilmington, can't go much further without hitting ocean!
That's badass Cory. I do the same thing out here in northern California and competition has gotten thick in the past few years. I got into this as a survival deal because Butte County is one of the...
Should be a star on that helmet.
All of his prices were good except for that one too, I get $2.00 a pound up here in Chico, CA
Yes, consider it a tip. Can you afford not to?
I use a harbor freight Badlands 9000K. Find a magazine with their coupons in it and you can get it for 299.99. Pay the extra $30-40 for the one year or two year protection plan. Best value in...
130/ton for shred and 186/ton for prepared/heavy iron. This is in Oroville, CA. They sell direct to China and the word is sometime in July prices will rebound. How much is unknown.
Wow sounds like a pain in the ass in other states. Here's something California actually has that's easier. I get vehicles all the time that have a lienholder listed. Sometimes the lien is paid off...
They only pay $2.00 a pound out here because they have to due to the CRV tax out here. I think lots of people bring cans down from Oregon and maybe Nevada. By the way that's only the scrap yards that...
Love Dodge trucks. got a 99 shortbed 5.2 5 speed and a 91.5 turbo diesel automatic.
oh yeah, heard all about mass-wholes (spelled incorrectly on purpose). A Marine buddy from New Hampshire said they rape and pillage in that state due to the lack of sales taxes.
I get my business cards from them and other advertising stuff. Get some business cards and hand them out to everybody you meet.
it'll weigh around 1000 pounds, scrapped many honda and acura shells through the years that were parted out. Will weigh more obviously if it still has the subframe and some interior.
I used to go to that yard with my aluminum rims and copper radiators. They would always pay a few cents higher than what I was told over the phone. I'd still be going there if Chico didn't finally...
Pretty much describes my situation to a "T" except I'm just a one man show so I don't quite pull that number of autos. Not enough hours in the day.
Actually it's on Hwy 20 somewhere between Grass Valley and where it meets Interstate 80. Similar looking country.
