Someone suggested to me a concrete saw would out cut a torch by far. Keeping the pumper bed truck.
If if I get another ive been looking at and decide to go for its axles, I think my plan is to go...
I’ll try to next time I’m on an actual computer. I tried before but wasn’t successful.
No luck selling the bed, but looks like I’ll keep the rest of it unless I decided to cut it up for the axles.
Yep, the pumper bed truck.
How so? Actually it's hideous yellow, though paint will fix that!
Well...I bought an M928A1. Needs a motor, etc etc. I got it titled and storage that doesn't cost has been arranged. An M928A1 is a little rare to just cut up, though if the frame is shot I still...
Well...I got it titled! That's a start. Storage has been resolved for now so it looks like I will be keeping this thing!
The brakes are caged.
I think that's what I'll do. I've got it in my name but am having issues titling it so if I had to scrap it I'd need to be there anyway in theory...so a ride would be ideal. Any other pointers?

Greetings!
Some of you have surely seen my threads on the 5 ton 6x6 made into a fire truck I have and questions on scrapping the pumper bed to make it back into a cargo variant.
It's a nonrunner....
This is indeed...addictive! I can sense it already! What all do you still have to remove?
There may be other threads on this I haven't been able to find; if so, I am not offended at all if an admin/mod were to elect to merge this with such or move it to a different board/category.
What...
Thanks for the info!
OK, so now, I can already see the suggestions coming for parting one out one flat-rate box at a time?
Thanks for the warm welcome! I remember your posts on another thread of mine. According to others, SMF now has an ultra comprehensive, thread to end all threads on "Torching a 5 ton 6x6 to the...
Dude, you have some amazing stories. Just reading these kind of endeavors reminds me of the crazy experiences I've had.
I actually had much of my drivers ed and first mechanical lessons in/on...
I believe it on the hassle on the yard’s end. I may take it in whole or nearly whole.
Interesting and duly noted! With your advice I almost have to do this now, no? Just to report back...
So in other words, should I have this thing taken in as whole as possible? Eliminates the torching and lifting, no?
The way you describe the story of this CAT, did you load it and haul to the scrap yard in one piece? Of course, that's the most hassle-free way, right? Granted I may get less for it for obvious...
Yeah, I expect that even in Fairbanks prices might not be all that great.
Hello from another Fairbanksan!
Hi all,
I've already started a couple threads but figured I should take the time to actually introduce myself. I admittedly didn't originally since I had only one question but since I seem to be...
As would I! As of now, I believe I could also burn one to the ground as of now. Thanks guys, you've already taught me a lot!
Interestingly I’ve also heard that a yard may pay more for a running truck that is driven in?
