Exactly this. Having a "guy" or a reliable outlet means everything. Make those connections and build those professional relationships.
Funny thing is, I believe the big e-waste company that takes my local Staples stuff AND who is contracted by the county is one in the same.
My county drop-off was kinda in the middle. I would take the yoke and all the wire from the CRT but left the brown board. No broken tubes or shell allowed. As long as something was left in the unit,...
Thanks for the pics. Im glad to see someone making their equipment work for them.
In my area, The red and blue would have me over in a split second with no fenders on that trailer tho.
My 9-5 job was on a shutdown over this past New Year holiday and these guys fit me in for a drop off. We drove 5 hours with 2400 lbs and CFCS made every mile worth it.

Lesson ... call your yards before you go !!!
I sent in a few spring cleaning loads and cleaned out the shop a bit. Glad to have some space back and a little fun money.

I didn't know the Empire was finally scrapping the Death Star. You might want to check better than scrap on a slightly used planetary laser beam. Good find.
:))
Seriously tho, it does look like...
I did about a 20 minute burn this morning. Lots of white smoke and steam releasing. I tried to keep the temp low at first but towards the end I did crank it up a bit. After a long cool down, I see no...
I set up the furnace and did the refractory cement pour a few days ago. It came out a little soupy but it went smoothly. I pulled the molds this morning and i'm confident in the results. The next...
Iv'e been scrapping for a few years now and have done so just to earn a little extra money to fund other projects. My newest project has been inspired by my continuing addiction to watching YouTube. ...

Sometimes those transistor hold down tabs are copper, brass or stainless. Nice heat sinks. I sell these larger ones at the ham-fests and swap-meets for $3-5 each depending on size. Guys love them for...
