yea, it sucks to sell in the crappy market...
but i am also worried about what we have lurking around the corner after the big election.
i need to thin out my hoard...
500-700lbs of al/cu coils (clean)
500lbs motors
500lbs transformers
1000lbs transformer windings and cu tubing
And $28.25 for .25lbs of aluminum? That's $113 a pound!!!! I am all in.
$5 a pound for brass, $3 a pound for copper?
I would drive the 7~8hr to cash in my hoard for those prices.
Dens-A-Can
these folks are great to deal with
i am just south of DC this week. planned on doing some DC CL free scrapping, but the two yards close to me is at $2 per 100lbs for shed.
i think i will pass for now.
Cu-Al coils - around 7-10lbs at $.70lb
compressor and fan motor - around 40lbs at $.10lb
insulated wire - 1-2lbs at $.50lb
rest of it 20lbs shred at $.05lb
my guess is $10-$12
He was probably right. They used aluminium duct on most "manufactured" homes and single/double wide trailers for a long time.
they like truck rides and pink blankets...
i heard there was someone with a couple TVs in a basement in chicago, they may be interested in some trading
anyone run to get the worthless TVs yet?
I have scrapped quite a few of those if you need some tips on breaking them down. The easy way is a lot easier than learning as you go.
looks like asbestos and fines to me...
that's alot like the deals down here.
worst is there is always someone trying to trade their $200 car (usually a cavalier or neon w/fart can) for a $7000...
thank you sir
holy crap, sounds like the prices are on a good rebound.
i am close to sw PA, how far do i have to go to get those prices?
The lefties are trying to get laws passed in my neck of the woods against tieing dogs out on chains. Can't say I blame them, I refuse to tie my dogs up, or even put colars on them.
Getting better, but not up to $5 per 100 yet
cars have been up to $4-$4.50 on the WV-swPA border past few weeks...
hopefully our prices will catch up with you folks.
seems like everyone and their brother is wanting a car hauled away, must...
I have scrapped around 200 cars in the last 3 years or so, the money was good when the metal market was up.
Since the bottom fell out, I have been pondering the notion to start ebaying small parts...
have you found a taker for your electronics?
i mostly do scrap cars. i had a few dozen batteries hoarded and wanted the best price i could find. after a bit of research i found a place in manhiem pa (not far from harrisburg) paying $.24 per...
called today cars at $80 per ton.
pleasent suprise today at my yard, cars up from $40 to $60 per ton
i would suggest using another power source, the energy stored in 9v and watch batteries are not going to be very cost effective.
a 120vac to DC power supply, a automotive battery with a divider...
