Typically when tearing down computers, I pay a guy $1 for every motherboard he recovers, and he obviously has to do the rest. If he's good, he can make a lot of money. If not, well he makes $40 a...

^And don't try to put a torch to it, it doesn't work out very well. :)
There's lot of different grades of Stainless Steel. Be sure to do a little research. Some stainless is worth over $1 a lb at the yard.
Just wanted to leave another review for Mike.
Sent in large amount of Hard Drives. Only (1) tested bad.
Great service. Great Buyer. Very Happy with another transaction.
95% percent of buyers I have dealt with in this forum have been reputable and awesome people.
Typically there are two reasons you will have a bad buyer.
1. Buyer is new and inexperienced....
Went mushroom hunting yesterday in a local state park area.
Found 5 mushrooms.
Also found a 100 CRT monitors someone had dumped in a riverbed.
Pretty sad.
Long story short-
Every few days I create a pile of stuff for my father in law to breakdown and process. Most of it is stuff that I have picked up, electronics, vcrs, computers, stereo equipment,...
Just leaving a review- I used Mike a couple weeks ago for some memory and everything turned out great. I was paid fair and quickly.
I just wanted to get a little clarification on something I have been wondering for some time.
I typically strip all the batteries off my boards, but what about the little AL caps? The answer will...
I have a friend who does this and it seems like her is 75/25 in actually getting it to go through. I think he has done about 10 transactions, with 2 companies never sending anything and the rest...
I know the R2 process is pretty difficult, but its one of those things where "if you applied, you can kind of operate like you are already certified". If you want to be R2 certified, you better set...
I recently was in another state, and saw something that kind of surprised me.
I'm not going to list the location, but it is a facility that charges individuals to drop off there E-scrap.
For...
It wasn't me. I promise.
Thanks for the opinion Old Dude. I agree that the market is manipulated a lot. However, for us less educated folk, I can still get excited when I see a small bump in prices when it was trending down.
On a good note today-
Gold Price is going up! For how long, I do not know, but I check it every day and I love to see it rebound and gain like $20. Doesn't do a ton for my prices, but I think it...
When I got out of the Military in 2008, it was probably the worst possible time to get out.
The markets crashed, things went to hell in a handbag real quick. A lot of people were desperate. I had...
Some of the larger "Plotters" are actually made in a wood box. I break those down. The larger plastic ones, I can typically throw in shred no problems.
There are threads that will tell you how to upload pic's onto the site. Why don't you go to the introduction section and give us a brief statement about who you are, your recycling experience, ect....
PM me. I do industrial surplus.
I'm in the market for a new drill today, I want something that has enough balls to get the job done, but it also portable, lightweight, and smaller and size.
Can anyone give me recommendations?...
90% of buyers do not care about broken boards. After all, it is scrap. A lot of people run them through a shredder anyway. You can get a lot more in a gaylord that way.
Always best to check with...
^ He has a point. If the container is free. You can't lose.
I don't like this idea at all. I think you could better utilize the place storing better things than Shred. (Computers, Aluminum) Pretty much anything other than steel.
I would concentrate on...
Just leaving my review.
Mike's an honest guy who get's payment out fast. There's really nothing else to say. Good transaction.
You guys might as well start a "in memory" thread for Mike1. Based on the threads I have read in the last few days, his life expectancy is around 14.5 hours.
