Just dropped off a load here in Kansas City, MO and was 165 a ton. Last time it was 180ish a ton but that was probably 6 months ago.
Thought I would update this. Got the Camaro mostly done and all of it paid by free stuff that was going to be trashed and I either fixed up and sold or scrapped.
...
Yes, but I sold that on Ebay for 190.00!!! I did not make it BTW.
Yep, check that thread mentioned earlier. That was my experience w/Ecycle Group also!!
I would suggest cleaning them up real good, especially the contact parts, take lots of pictures and enclose an itemized list with your packing and what you expect to get money wise. Also make a note...
All of my scrap money has gone towards my 79 Camaro project. So far I have paid every dime of the project with scrap(some actual scrap and some reselling stuff I pick up) and have about 1000.00 left...
Also on the printers, don't forget about the print cartridges. They can be sold to places online that will pay for the cartridges and shipping.
What he said^^^^
Seriously thought I am sure there are some good parts to sell there, but unfortunately if it is like anything around here by the time you figure out what to do the next guy...
Mine did.
I was able to take the piece apart where the cord was attached and disconnect it inside and rewire the new one.
I had an old Kelvonator I grabbed and sold for about 125.00 it was cracked pretty bad on the inside. I put a new cord on it. It was pretty easy to put one on.
Yep, I have learned (from this site) that resell is the obvious the best way to make money. I have already paid for my Camaro project and then some doing this. My mentality it is if it sells for more...
Well....guess what...it just sold on Ebay for 190.00!! I am going to use the Fed Ex Packaging Service and ship it off. They will pack it so I can't be blamed if it gets damaged. Only cost 16.00 on...
Speaking of batteries, I had some electric toy scooter batteries. My yard pays by the lb and these are small so I took them to Advance Auto Parts and they give you a 5.00 store credit each. I had 8...
The hangers will sell also. Just check ebay normally they sell in packs of 50 or 100.
Want to know something crazy? I just sold a bunch of hangers along w/the holder like that for 50.00 on CL. It always amazes me what will sell. I was going to take them in for scrap and thought I...
I assume you assume you are talking about the satellite dish and not the actual satellite :)
Nice!!! Congrats!!
The yard I go to will not take A/C parts or whole w/out a license. I have taken in parts here and there and snuck them by though, just depends on how close they look. The ones I have scrapped are...
Agreed, I know nothing about e-scrap, but I would be kicking myself if I took all that for shred. Some might be good resell or for parts. If you have the room I would take them home and do some...
Nice score.....I have all but given up on Free CL ads for anything good. They get snagged pretty fast around here that is for sure!!
I usually accumulate stuff, teardown and separate. Once I get a full load of shred I take it in. Usually a few loads of shred later I have accumulated enough non-ferrous to make a load. My yard the...
Nevermind...answered my own question. Looks like .10 p/lb
Are you sure that light iron is 2.31 p/lb? Is that the same as shred?
