Where can I get a Gaylord Box?

Walmart has given me some whenever I nicely ask them. I usually get the ones that watermelons or pumpkins come in. I have a business relationship with all the stores in my area, so that helps.

Score, motherload, or otherwise awesome thread. - Last night before trash day

If it's an aluminum door frame, bend it and break it to get it apart. Take a hammer to it. Then go at the screw with a pair of vice grips to get it out.

Scrap Steel vs a penny on the ground

Don't forget to check washers and dryers. I found a 14K gold bracelet in the dryer duct a few months back, and of course some change. The pawn shop offered me $45....I kept the bracelet.

This thread is an urgent one - Gaylord boxes (used)

I asked a produce guy at Wal-Mart about a watermelon gaylord, and he said I could have them. There ate the big cardboard ones that fill up a full size pallet.
  9. Ewaste tips Lets start a conversation about what to do with analog tvs

I say charge $5, $6, maybe even $7 more for every new TV or desktop computer that people buy to go towards government funded recycling centers. Every state dump, landfill, and curbside pick-up could...

    Circuit boards

He didn't give good specifics. I'm going off what was stated. A board with little or no components will go as shred and not low grade.

    Circuit boards

Sure. Most will only go as low grade. The most economic thing would be to throw them in with your shred (steel). It's not cost effective to mail these off to an ewaste buyer. Now, if the boards have...

    40% half dollars

Silver is silver. As long as you know the percentage of silver, it doesn't really matter if it's 5% silver; someone wants it and will pay you for the value of the silver.
  15. TVs everywhere. Nowhere to dispose of the shells.

Thankfully, here in NC, the county dump sites still take them free of charge. They have an electronics recycling area where people pile up TVs, computers, microwaves, and other e-waste. I went the...

This thead is a question - mother board screws?

A lot of electronics have coated brass. Most of the connector screws that I have run across are coated. If you're curious, just hit it with a file or your grinding wheel.
