yes you are right...tinned copper (I even checked just to make sure). Again, my local buyer doesn't want them mixed, they run them as shred because of the high amount of pcv coating vs actual wire....
You are spot on, I might not written that clear enough....I sort my wire as well...ribbon in the steel pile, not the computer cable pile. And YES communication separated from the rest. I just do not...
this has already been shown in multiple discussions that depopulating boards (unless on a LARGE scale) is a mistake. Unless you have access to literally 100's of pounds of boards, it won't be viable....
easy answer...if it is NOT a N (and those are somewhat old at this point) or an AC, then scrap it. The ONLY caveat to this is if you have say a CISCO router or possibly a couple of other server grade...
answer to that is no....already asked them along with my tantalum. Sorry, no cookie.... :(

He DOES buy silver mylar- .75/lb currently. They DO NOT buy MLCC's, so guess I need to keep looking for a source on that.
At least there is someone now you can...
Excellent...I appreciate the info. I reached out to him via PM, so hopefully we will know shortly. I will update as soon as I have info for everyone else.

oh, and from what I hear...DO NOT jump into the gold refining forum and ask that...they will not be kind. They expect you to READ EVERYTHING 1st including the book (kinda like the beginners bible)...
the yard doesn't have to care or classify anything ANY way. They can classify and pay what they want to. They could have called it shred and that is the price they would pay. You don't have to sell...
Indium - used in lcd screens....I checked into this because it only made sense to recycle the bare screens right? Apparently, it is still cheaper to dig it up (it typically chows up in other metal...
actually they just TALK about gold the most. There is silver, platinum, palladium, gold, copper, and even nickle among other metals in electronics that are recovered. ALL of those add up, but people...
he was offered $3K above by someone on this board...of course this was after shipping costs...but really, shipping wouldn't be crazy. 200 laptops fit into 1 gaylord.....probably with room to spare.
