The old Alpha processors are one of my favorites to collect along with the 80186 / 80188 / 80286 CLCC's.
I like your Samsung Alpha. :))

I took a box knife to it and peeled some back to show copper for sure.
Thank you for the quick answers.
I will give that a try and see what I find.
I have been parting down UPS's for a while and selling the innards to my
local scrap yard. I have been cutting off the connectors that look like the
one in the picture and they have two silver...

I have sold them as aluminum too many times. How might one "beat" the copper slug out?
I see them with heavy copper plates on the bottom as well and I sadly leave them on as well
and put them in...
Good plan young man! Well done!
I have sold thousands of the IBM terminal keyboards over the years.
Mostly with these part numbers:
1394099 / 1394100 / 1394167 / 1395660
Don't scrap them if you see them. If they look...
The products that I specialize in are higher end "central office" switches
made by the manufacturers I listed. They would be used by a telephone
company or an ISP to deliver their product to a...
These are most likely memory chips. These boards are IBM boards for sure. It looks like there was a PC/AT
at the far end of the picture sitting on top of some computers. Nice!
I am full time buying Central Office telecom equipment all over the USA
and e-scrap in Georgia.
I especially am looking for these manufacturers:
Alcatel
Calix
Occam
Lucent
I am not up on the forum much but I am a buyer.
The best way to reach me is by email. Pictures are great
of what you have!!!

Thanks!
I am especially looking today for products made by
Occam and Calix. They might be found at telephone
companies that use them to deliver telephone service,
T1, DSL, etc. to their customers.

Maybe I need to check my math. I will research a recent deal and provide an example where
I sold some boards after removing some socketed motorola chips and what the final results were.
Thanks...
Old thread I know but I always use the heat gun to desolder ceramic gold capped
chips like these. My thought being, if I can get $80 to $100 a pound for something
off the board or $4 to $6 a pound...
I am a buyer for surplus by these manufacturers only:
Lucent CBX 500
Alcatel 3HE 7750
Occam BLC 6000
Calix B6 BLC
Calix C7 MSAP
Calix E7 ESAP
Fujitsu Flashwave 4100 / 4300 / 4500 / 7500
These are some of my favorite chips to buy. I prefer to buy them on the boards
as most folks really mess them up trying to get them off the boards.
If anyone has any to sell on boards or off,...
Greetings from the Great State of Georgia.
I have been involved in recycling computer and telecom
equipment for a long time and I just found this website.
I have sold my fair share of steel,...
