So I got a bunch of telecom boards and there were a few of these in the box:

What I'm wondering is what those boxes are? ...

Thanks for the info, every search I made as soon as "cell phones" was in there all I got as results were breakdown vs sell whole posts.
OK, so my mother in law gave me a bag of old phones, and I figured I'd break them down. On top of a very nice pile of highly gold plated boards, I found these:
This first one was the tiny ribbon...
So I was picking up some clothes at the local thrift shop and found a neat little find in the electronics section. An old HP LaserJet 6L printer. The price on it was $2.99 so I looked inside and...

So I picked up a couple more towers at work Friday as the old junk computer cleanup continues. Our resident instrumentation guy / computer wiz wanted to keep the old hard drives for backup on our...
So I've heard about graphite scrap being sold, I'm just wondering if there's any value to graphite gaskets? We use them on the heads for reciprocal compressors so they're about 8 inches in diameter...
My uncle is the IT guy at the local university. I was talking about how I was getting into scrapping, and how I broke down my first laptop. He replies with "if you want 'em, I have some laptops,...
I know each computer is different as far as yield goes, but I'm just wondering how much I should be willing to pay for an old computer for scrap. I've been collecting free stuff to break down but...
jghilino:
I'm thinking just any board in general, stuff from sattelite receivers, DVD players, remotes, etc. I know there's small amount of copper, nickel, palladium etc in the ceramic capacitors...
I'm wondering if the boards themselves have any value, or is it just the components. What I mean is, I was planning on pullin off all the chips, pins, capacitors, resistors etc from each board I get...
So I got these at work...
I started working at an Air Compressor sales/service shop (apprenticing to become a licensed technician) about four months ago after 13 year as a chef. Needless to say,...
Hi everyone,
I'm Al, I'm 28, from Sudbury, ON. I just started scrapping as a hobby, something to pass the time in the garage for an hour or so a day. I'm completely new to this and hope to be...
