Just a helpful hint: When "snatching" with a chain or cable, pass the line or chain through a cinder block. Position the block so it helps deaden the whiplash if the cable or chain breaks.
Sorry...
Sounds like a neat find. I had an '87 Caddy Sedan DeVille with the 401 ci. I felt like Dolemite rolling in that thing.
Great car, very fast. However, the head gasket blew in it and dumped...
In Southern Oregon, shred @ $140 a ton at the yard I go to. $80/ton at the one I don't go to. Best price on Short Heavy steel I can find is & $160 per ton. It has been like this for a while.
I have a friend back east who has had luck selling to the freight services at the airport. If you are close to one you might give that a try.
I sing this all the time (to my wife's chagrin........)

I sure wish I had put tarps down in the gravel section of my driveway before breaking stuff down. I will never be able to get all the little bits of plastic and glass out of there. Magnets only get...
Wow, I wouldn't have guessed that was 4.5 tons. I am usually close. Congrats! Sometimes I feel like a carney man guessing the weight on scrap metal.
"Liking" is bad enough.... I just don't want to "tweet"
Still photo or video, I would post the footage to Youtube. Anything to further the ruination of a worthless thief's rep.
Congratulations from a fellow Eagle Scout. I received mine in 1995. Until I read your post, I had never thought about the correlation between a scrapper and a scout. Many shared attributes. Best...
I like using a San Angelo bar or "spud" bar for smashing stuff while keeping things at arms length. It's also handy for cleaning stuff with lots of screws. Flat end for crushing. Chisel end for...
Mr. Wolf,
I have used Diablo brand carbide sawzall blades for cutting aluminum doors. Never tried cutting insulation off copper cable though. I got them from a specialty tool store. I picked up...
That's the truth! I called about a couple of computer towers last night and left work early to get them. I remember thinking I should have waited and went later while enroute. When I got there, I...
How bout a little sous and pickled hogs feet? Well...maybe not....
Hi Parrothead, glad to hear you are safe and out of the hospital.
Chris M., put a no-hub, rubber coupler on that broken drain and use it. I have one and I love it.
Dean Martin and Harry Carey did okay for themselves.... ;)
Carbide-tipped wood demo sawzall blade by Diablo. I used one to cut some similar stuff and it worked great! Recommended to me by someone here on the forum, but can't remeber who to credit.
Just curious, but do any of you who have reported seeing lots of cans dumped along the roadsides have aluminum container deposits in your state? We have deposits on our cans in Oregon and I rarely...
I second the suggestion from jghilino. Epoxy is good stuff.
Welcome to the forum! I bet you'll start scrapping some stuff to feed the vintage computer habit... :)
Part it out on the online auction sites. Serious money in parts. Also, you could reposition the controls and make it a joystick-driven wheelbarrow.
I have tried a few things. My favorite is an old bow rake or dirt rake.
