I assume you're talking about PVC jacketed wire? I can't imagine anybody interested in dealing with anything less than tons of the stuff at a time, and even then I'd be surprised if it's worth more...
When you use a really destructive method of dismantling things, you get sum're parts. Sum're over here, sum're over there... :)
Ice fishing is a lot harder to do in the summer. It takes a lot of practice. ;)
I get that "do you really make money doing this?" all the time when I'm picking up people's stuff. I usually just tell them that it's a lot of hard work, but I do OK with it. I figure as soon as...
I zip my grinder across the windings (don't have to press hard, digging into the ferrite dulls the wheel faster than necessary), and the copper pops right off, even with big globs of resin attached.
The fact that you're talking to the "CEO" tells me that this is a quasi-bogus operation. Unless you're a big player in the game (and, no offense, but if you're asking this question then I'm assuming...
Also, that's a great problem to have!
I can't take it, but that's very generous of you.
Nice work, by the way!
Are you going to sell, or keeping?
Those chairs are a dime a dozen on the curb, it seems, and it never occurred to me to re-cover them. I find "good" ones from time to time, and aside from...
Thanks for posting your experiment. These types of threads are very useful.
There's a market for parts, too. Wheels, bags, handlebars, etc. Of course this can be a bit of a time-sink, but if you have a lot of mowers, don't think there isn't better-than-scrap money to be...
I've got a big fat mess of mowers that I've been piling up. I'm semi-good with small engines and stuff, so I'm hoping to turn at least half of them into running mowers, then sell them. For some...
Wow, this is fascinating to me. I am glad it all went well for you.
I will be following the rest of your story with much interest.
Holy crud. Can you sell them?
Congrats!
If you cut the line, then it was intentional. Ignorance of consequences doesn't negate responsibility.
From the pieces that I've taken apart, I don't think I've ever seen a "good" board in a radio or heater or fans or dehumidifiers or other electronic controlled appliance. Sometimes a bigger radio...
I agree that's it's probably not worth the trouble to do it, but if you're set on it, I had this idea:
I know that MEK will swell/soften/dissolve rubber and plastic materials. I suspect plenty of...
Whoa, fast turnover. Gotta' love that. Barely got your hands dirty, too. I'd take that kind of deal every day of the week!
Sweet score, Bro!
If you want a quick way to "destroy" a hard drive in front of a customer, hit the motor spindle really hard with a hammer, and it will buckle the discs inside. One quick blow of a hammer, and the...
Them giving you gas money is icing on the cake. That's a good hit!
If it were me, I'd probably take the shred to the closer yard as often as needed, and stockpile the "good stuff" for trips to that other yard.
