Thank you. I was thinking the same.
I have a bunch of these outdated solenoid valves. (ASCO Red Hat series, none of the commonly used ones). Not worth putting online, I don’t think. They have a big old brass knob on them, but the rest...
Books really have to relatively recent or in a particular niche. That's why I have luck with thrift stores, library sales, and such. I think yard sale books sit around a long time before they go back...
I like BookScouter.com too! I prefer Powells because it is a one box shipment, it's prepaid and I can enter 20+ ISBN numbers at a time. College Textbooks are so insane pricewise...definitely shop...
Not sure where this one goes, please move it if it goes somewhere else.....
Always looking for ideas to make extra money when prices are down, does anyone else sell books?
Similar to sellers for...
Good luck! I hope no one else shows up, watch out for that buyer's premium.
We've talked a lot about the closing of scrap yards due to low prices, going bankrupt, mismanagement, being out of compliance, etc.
There's a bunch of stuff up for sale at this auction (see below)...
Word is out on me locally, others actually tag me when people post "free" metal. Also joined a local thrift store group and an "environmental awareness" group that I thought would be a bunch of...
As I've gotten to know some of you in my time here, it seems like many of us work in small towns and neighborhoods where we know most people. Word gets around quickly in a small town, good and bad....
Another word to add to the search list is "free" or "freebies". I'm just a lurker on some of these groups, but I'll PM people with stuff to get rid of.
Hinges, furniture hardware, tools, and lighting......find it, then keep it. Eventually sell it for more than scrap.
No cats...first thing I dug for. I think that's what the prior tenant was doing.
So I passed the same truck piled high with furniture and household boxes two times today and I started thinking (always a struggle for me), "they must be moving across town!"
My thought was that...
Here's one guy's man crush on these keyboards :

This is amazing....over $800? What are people using these for?
Just e-waste right now. If I bang on it, I'll use the concrete floor. Plus, I can reinforce it underneath....plenty of room.
I have a garage where I do most of my scrapping stuff, but also use the garage for parking cars (apparently, that's what my wife thinks they are for).;)
I recently found a folding ping-pong...
ALSO, keep an eye out between now and Super Bowl Sunday for TVs. Right after the first of the month especially. Many of these TVs work, people just wanted a bigger/better TV. Review those old threads...
This method is still VERY successful for me. I'm known as the appliance and e-scrap guy now. 90 percent if the stuff I get is free! Check for local FB groups! Follow instructions from beginning of...
Patriots' Day in Boston AND tax day? Are you sure this isn't a homegrown terrorist?

This thread is devoted to all those random pics related to scrapping that don't fit anywhere else. Here, I'll start....

This is what my two kids made for...
BTW: if you have any successes, feel free to add them here.
Just got three mountain bikes and a broken bed frame two blocks from my house FOR FREEEEEE!!!
I love it when that happens.
I've been looking around. Try "flea market", "yard sale", "garage sale", "tag sale", "estate sale", "bargains", or "stuff". Good luck
