Do you really think a guy who's doing his level best to maximize the value of scrap is in a position to set policy?

I can neither confirm nor deny that statement....
taterjuice, I could scrap for 1000 years and not put a dent in our deficit......
Yes. You'd have to talk to our business office for the details.......
That's above my pay grade, skylinejack. I figure that getting the best possible price for the metal we sell is serving the taxpayers.... of which I am one.
I'd rather not say what government agency. As far as types of scrap; steel, brass, copper, lead acid batteries, aluminium, car bodies, catalytic converters, radiators, etc.
We auction off surplus equipment, but we do better just selling the scrap metal.
The stuff I sell belongs to my employer, so all the money goes back to them. I get a check from the yard, and turn it in.
I work for a government agency in Michigan, and do all I can to maximize the value of the scrap metal we produce.
My yard took them with the brake shoes on.
Axles had been drained of oil before I got them, and were unloaded by the yard.
Thanks for the input.
I have several semi truck drive axles to scrap. I've separated the brake drums, but am wondering if I need to remove the brake shoes in order to be paid top dollar?
Thanks!
