OMG can you imagine how many times that could have gone wrong? Right or Left leaning, you have to admit there is a reason we meet in the middle.
Sorry iam not giving up my muscle car (69 goat). Lol.

I wonder who obeys the laws the most? I think the US is much better than any other country , I think each and every scraper has a responsibility to the environment and should do the right thing . I sometimes cost me/us money but it is all part of business.

I would agree, but, I look at our cousins the Brits and it seems that the people as a whole contribute more as individual's compared to the US. Iam just going by my personal observations. Recycling needs to be taught in the home at an early age.
It wasn't practiced my home as a child. And to be honest I didn't teach it to my kids when they were growing up. I wasn't home a lot, work kept me away a lot.

But I got the the grandkids trained! And they are like little srap/recycling police.
Drives their Mom's and Dad's crazy!!!! Lol

If you sell boards in the US they most likely go to Umicore. Umicore have a pretty good track record for refining and environmental responsibility.

As far as US based refiners Sipi metals, Gannon and Scott maybe, Most sample and send on.

Umicore(Belgium), Boliden(Sweden), and Dowa(Japan) are the big circuit board smelters. There are others, but these are the ones most circuit boards end up going to.

I so wanted to let this thread go but when I get notices poking at my views, it drags me back in. I applaud those that can see where I'm coming from and get a glimpse of my thought process. It makes things a heck of alot easier.

So you're saying you'd rather take a profit while it hurts the environment? That's messed up and you should seriously rethink how you do things. This is a 180 of providing for your family. We're talking about profits and the enviroment, not what it takes to put food on the table but you seem to confuse the two. It's been shown time and time again that your can make a profit, provide for your family, AND be kind to the environment. Why do you think New York and California's so hell-bent on laws and regulations.

You'd think we did live in a capitalist society down here and I'd explain why the US doesn't anymore another time. I was always told to never be afraid to stand up because I think differently.

    You don't make any sense.
I work and provide for my family.
Who are you to say I don't care about the environment.
If you can't take the heat then maybe you think before you post.
You want to try and attack my character you better pack a lunch.
I state my views and opinion.
Too say I don't care about the environment because I put my family first is insulting and I take offense to it.
You know nothing about me, yet you accuse me . Oh well web muscles I guess.
