Haul trailers from Denver to Ault

I bought an auction of 8 concession/event trailers in Denver, and need to move them to a farm in Ault, Colorado. I plan to move all of them myself, but thought it might be a good idea to have a back up plan. So with that said, I may need to hire a few of these moved. It's about 62 to 70 miles one way depending on route.

Let me know what you would charge to haul one (or more).

Congrats on your score. I might be interested in buying one for an equipment trailer and willing to move some for a discount. Regardless, you will find these valuable.

If you knew of some of the drive away companies that haul custom vans they sometimes take a load to Calif. and have to dead-head back home. (usually Ind.) And a lot of times will cut a half rate to pay the fuel back. They run a semi with a lowboy trailer (and winch) that will haul 3 vans. Explorer Van comes to mind out of Warsaw, Ind. A friend of mine used to drive for them and he would pick up a couple of used cars or a limo and bring back to Ft.Wayne or Indy auto auction.

Years ago Morgan used to be a big company doing that but don't know about today, I've been away from that industry for quite a while now.

After weighing the pros/cons of trailering an extra tow vehicle to Colorado, I opted to take just one truck and make 8 trips. On the 6th trip the transmission started acting up so aunt/uncle came and bailed me out with their Duramax and gooseneck flatbed.

Finally got them all hauled and up for sale.

Looks like this got posted while I was on the road. I got them all. There are 8 buildings, but 4 trailers. Any building can fit on any trailer, but only one at a time. You roll the trailer to the building, line it up with the skids, then winch it on. When it gets to about where it's balanced, you push it down to hitch up, then finish winching it on.

When we broke down, we loaded the truck, then winched the trailer up behind it. Trailer sat on the dovetail and ramps had to be strapped upright. It was quite an ordeal. But it's done.

Sold 3 of them in August, 1 in September and the last of them while in Colorado a week ago. After it was all said and done, I netted $3,400. Not sure I'd do it again, but a learning experience just the same.
